How Often to Change a Diaper
Change frequency depends on your baby's age. Regular changes prevent rashes and keep baby comfortable.
Change Schedule by Age
These are guidelines. Watch your baby — dryness and comfort matter more than the clock.

Gut is very active; change immediately after a bowel movement
1–6 months
Every 2–3 hours
Check every 2 hours; always change after a bowel movement

Every 3–4 hours
Use the wetness indicator if your diaper has one
Night (all ages)
1–2 times per night
Use overnight diapers with extra absorbency
Practical Tips
Change after every bowel movement
Stool is the number-one cause of irritation. The faster you change, the lower the rash risk.
Check by touch
Many Unicorn diapers have a wetness indicator that changes colour when wet — a quick check at a glance.
Prep before you lay baby down
Have a fresh diaper, wet wipes, and cream ready before placing baby on the changing mat.
Unicorn Diapers for Day and Night
Our diapers lock in moisture for up to 12 hours, keeping baby's skin dry around the clock.
